"You and I aren't a lie"
This one was a bit better than Wicked Grind in the way of endings. Even though the ending was extremely rushed it was far better. I really enjoyed the dealings with Lyle and Laine. This was a really great read.
The newest amazing standalone in the Stark World series!
My word, ladies, (and gentlemen too!) if you want to find your next book boyfriend, look no further than Mr. Lyle Tarpin, the swoonworthy and delectable fastest rising star in Hollywood. He's an all around good guy, but has some skeletons in his past he tries to hide. One that he uses some not so savory girls for. Along comes Sugar Laine, or simply Laine, who needs money, like now, to save her families house, now if only she can set her previous ethics aside. These two are combustible together when they meet, and when a photographer catches them together, they are forced to pretend to be together.
I loved these two, they were honest characters with problems that made my heart ache. I love that these two found each other in dark times, they both seemingly grew up overnight. Wicked Dirty has passion, heart, and a great story. Not one that you want to miss!
A sexy must read!!!
This was an AMAZING read!!! Lyle and Sugar were perfect for each other, and while Lyle was the protective sexy alpha hero, it was awesome to see a heroine be the rock in the relationship, to be the strong one while Lyle faced his demons. I loved the softer side that Sugar brought out in Lyle. Watching him come out of the shell he seemed to be, and accept his true potential may be one of my favorite parts of this book... well, besides the steamy, hot scenes between these two.
I was surprised to see a few of my favorite names from another series I completely love, and love how J. Kenner worked them in to the story. A phenomenal must read that I can't wait to get Wicked Torture, and to see who's story it is!!
I LOVED this book! I was quickly sucked into this story and Sugar's plight. Sugar hasn't had the easiest time and she's received some bad news and needs money NOW! She thinks she knows what she's getting into, but in reality, she has no idea. However, things can happen on her terms and she's the one holding the power. She's not expecting the man that opens the hotel door. Lyle hasn't dealt with something in his past very well. And on this evening, he certainly isn't expecting Sugar. Nor is he expecting the feelings she provokes. Turns out, he finds himself needing her albeit in a different way, but just as much as she needs him. What started out as a transaction, turns in to so.much.more.
I loved being wrapped up in the feels in this book! Lyle and Sugar didn't have a traditional start, but they just clicked. I also enjoyed getting little snippets into the Stark world. This book hooked me from the very beginning and didn't let go until The End. If you like a normal girl with a rising celebrity, I HIGHLY recommend this book.

I am in awe with J. Kenner's writing. I have been reading her books since she started the Stark series and I am more than addicted with Stark World. This is what I love about these books. J. Kenner has to reference back to her previous books that has to do with the characters she writes about now. Lyle was introduced to us many moons back, and made an appearance in Dallas and Jane's books. I was impressed how point on she is with this! There is so much history and since I have reread these books, I knew right away these references were correct! It was like walking down memory lane. This is why I will forever love Julie and her books.
Lyle broke my heart! That sums it up. I love him and with his past coming out in this book, I cried for him and his loss. Wicked Dirty put a lot of his personality into perspective for me. Sugar was the perfect heroine for Lyle. I loved her innocence, but at the same time this girl has spunk! She will push Lyle to his limits until he finally can find himself. Their chemistry was on key. The insta click that they have for each other was written in a way that you feel it just had to happen. It was not sappy or pushed upon. And my book husband makes an appearance ( if you have read any of my J. Kenner reviews, you will know who that is ;). I love revisiting with all the characters that show up and support Lyle. It is like coming back home for me.
Wicked Dirty definitely brought the dirty to the book. I was engrossed in this book and hung on to every word written. Lyle was making noise for awhile and this is the perfect time to let his story be heard. I am obsessed with these characters. I will never stop reading these books and can not wait for Wicked Torture to be released!
Finally meet Lyle!
We can finally reveal the mystery of Lyle-a very elusive and closed off character in our Stark Universe. He and Laine meet by happenstances. Both characters have similar hardships to overcome and I dare say this is more of a second chance at love story. I think there was a bit of a slow build at the beginning, but then the story evolved fairly quickly after that. Best part: we get follow up and sneak peeks to where all our Stark characters are in their lives.
Favorite Stark World Book
Book Two of the Stark World series and as of right now it's my favorite. Meet Lyle the hot actor who always attends events stag, recognize the name (he's represented by Evelyn, my favorite tell it as it is supporting character), you've already met him if you are a fan of the Stark universe. Meet Sugar (don't worry the author explains that one), the hard working (multiple jobs) female who is dealing with a lot and not one to give up, overall a level headed character (kind of reminds me a little of Evelyn when she calls it how she sees it). I've called J. Kenner the "Queen of Second Chance Romance," because a lot of her books in the Stark Series fall under this category; however, Sugar is a brand new character we've never met and neither has Lyle. It was a nice change to see how their relationship developed without past angst fogging things up. While I completely saw the ending of this book coming from a mile way, it's well written and the book isn't too long or short. Just like Wicked Grind, a few of your other favorite Stark (main and supporting) characters make an appearance. I'm a sucker for detail and have a hard time with a series when an author tempts something like this and doesn't get it right. J. Kenner does a great job with these overlapping characters appearing in each other's books and the occasionally overlapping timelines. I think I have an idea who Book Three is going to be about and I'm excited for it.
Wicked Dirty by J. Kenner continues the ever expanding connected web of interesting characters in the Stark World, with Sugar Laine and Lyle Tarpin. On the surface Lyle seems to have it all but inside he is damaged, conflicted and living someone else's life. Laine's life is busier and more hectic on the outside, but she can see through Lyle's facade.
I liked these characters, the depth and complexity of them. Laine had conflicts which were real as did Lyle. Laine does not give in just because of Lyle's fame but only because of who he is inside.
I recommend Wicked Dirty by J. Kenner because not only is it a well written story with great characters, but it also is a nice length book. Long enough to give real meat and depth, while short enough not to drag. Perfect reading choice for any day of the week.

Holy hell. Lyle Tarpin is one hot man!! I loved the instant chemistry between Lyle and Sugar. I went through a rollercoaster of feels reading this one. It was heartwarming, funny, sexy, heartbreaking, and steamy!

I love these Stark books! The intertwining of both new and old characters and story lines is just amazing! I'm forever a Damien Stark fan, but Lyle? He's my guy.
I really enjoyed this book. The backgrounds of Lyle and Sugar weren't as dark as some of the others in the Stark world but they still had issues that they had to overcome. I wasn't certain how they would overcome their first meeting. I liked the supporting characters (Nat and Rocky) and hope they have their own story soon. I liked that this was a pleasant read and the sex was hot.
