Taking a cold plunge ice bath is a great way to get energized and improve your overall health. It can also help with muscle recovery after strenuous exercise and reduce inflammation. While it’s not for everyone, it can be a great way to get a “mental reset” and improve your physical performance. Here’s how to properly prepare for a cold plunge cool bath

Find a Suitable Location: The first step is to find a suitable location for your cold plunge. If you’re doing it outdoors, make sure the temperature is cold enough (below 50 degrees Fahrenheit) and that you have a safe place to get in and out of the water. If you’re doing it indoors, you’ll need a bathtub, gym, or spa that has an ice bath option. 

Gather Supplies: You’ll need a few items to make your cold plunge experience more comfortable. These include a thermometer to check the temperature of the water, a towel to dry off afterwards, and a thick bathrobe or jacket to keep you warm after the plunge. You may also want to bring a hot water bottle to keep your core temperature up while you’re in the bath. 

Set a Timer: When you’re ready to get in, set a timer for three minutes and then get in the water. The cold shock will be intense, but try to stay in the water for the full three minutes. If you need to get out before the timer goes off, that’s fine. Just make sure you stay in for at least one minute.
